Buccaneers vs. Jets Week 17 Picks: Don't Bet Against Tom Brady and Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will bid to pile more misery upon the New York Jets when they head into MetLife Stadium for Week 17. Here's what we think will happen with our Buccaneers-Jets picks.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have clinched the NFC South crown after going 11-4 straight up so far this season. They still have an outside chance of clinching the number one seed, but they need to beat the Jets and the Panthers in their final two games to have a shot. The Bucs are 8-7 ATS this season.
For the New York Jets, they picked up their fourth win of the season when they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-21 last weekend. However, they are guaranteed to finish bottom of the AFC East, and only two teams in the league have a worse record this season. They are 3-5 straight-up at the MetLife Stadium, and 1-6 on the road. The Bucs are a serious step up in competition for them.
Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 17 matchup between the Buccaneers and the Jets (odds via FanDuel and FOX Bet; pick confidence based on a one-to-five-star scale).

Buccaneers vs. Colts Predictions
Buccaneers -13.5 (+100 via FanDuel)
The gulf in quality between these teams is vast. The Bucs boast the number two ranked offense in the NFL by yards per game, and they are coming up against a Jets defense that has been routinely dismantled over the course of the season. They rank dead last in points per game against
Jets QB Zach Wilson has not exactly set the world alight during his rookie season. He could struggle against a Bucs pass defense that ranks eighth in the league in passer rating allowed. The Bucs also have a terrific rush defense that is third in ypg, whereas the Jets running game has been poor.
It has all the hallmarks of a blowout win for Tampa. The Bucs are highly motivated, whereas the Jets have nothing left to play for this season. A two-touchdown spread rarely appeals, but in this case, it seems prudent to make an exception. It is also worth pushing it from 13 to 13.5 to get odds of +100 as opposed to -110, as the Buccaneers have enough quality to win this by at least 14 points.
Over 45.5 (-110 via FoxBet)
FanDuel is offering -115 on over 45.5 points, but you can find -110 if you head over to FOX Bet.
That is a tempting option, as the Bucs could put a beating on the Jets’ defense in this game. Tampa's pass attack is going up against a Jets team that gives up 250 yards through the air on average. Even with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans out, Antonio Brown could be poised to have another big game.
Ten out of 15 Bucs games have gone over 45.5 points this season, as have nine out of 15 games featuring the Jets. The Over is very appealing here.
