  • The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2024 NFL seasons among the Super Bowl odds favorites with their Week 1 clash set for 8:15 p.m. ET from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
  • Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts are both among the top names in the NFL MVP odds, but one of them faces a much easier matchup in Friday's season opener.
  • This game also marks the Philly debut for running back Saquon Barkley, who enters his seventh season with high expectations across our best sports betting sites.

To complement our Packers vs. Eagles prediction for the NFL's first matchup in Brazil on Friday, here are my Packers-Eagles player props for Week 1.

Jordan Love Over 256.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love blossomed into one of the NFL's best passers over the second half of his debut season as a starter, ranking fifth in passing yards (268.8 YPG) and first in PFF passing grade over his final eight games.

The Packers QB cleared this total in six of his final nine starts - not including when he threw for exactly 256 yards in Week 17 - and will get the first crack at this retooled Eagles defense, which ranked 31st last year in passing defense (252.7 YPG) with the seventh-highest average depth of target (8.2).

Even if Philly isn't as dreadful under new coordinator Vic Fangio, I still like Love's chances of cashing this prop in Week 1 as he kicks off his MVP campaign.

Christian Watson Over 37.5 receiving yards ⭐⭐⭐

Watson has endured a frustrating start to his career, as injuries and dropped passes have plagued the former No. 34 pick in his first two seasons.

He still developed into Love's go-to target last year, combining for 12 catches (16 targets) for 165 yards and three touchdowns over his final two starts before missing the final five games of the regular season due to injury.

When Watson has played at least 45 snaps in his career, he's cleared this total in nine of 14 starts (64.3%), and it takes only one catch for the speedster to cash against this aging Eagles secondary.

I'm also intrigued by the long odds at DraftKings on his alternate totals of 70 yards (+450) and 90 yards (+1100), though if you make only one bet, target this lower total.

Saquon Barkley Over 82.5 rush + rec yards ⭐⭐⭐

The Eagles have gone out of their way to hype up their new running back, whose usage in Philly's offense has drawn comparisons to Christian McCaffrey in San Francisco.

I'd pump the brakes on that, but there's a reason Barkley is one of the favorites by the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds behind this Eagles offensive line - which remains one of the NFL's best even without retired center Jason Kelce.

The Packers ranked 28th last year in rushing yards allowed (128.3 YPG), and that remains an issue under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who is switching the team's scheme to a 4-3 for the first time since 2008.

I'd expect the Eagles to attack Green Bay's front over and over, whether that's in the run game or short passes out of the backfield.
