Ranking Super Bowl Rings: 20 Best NFL Championship Rings Ahead of Chiefs vs. Eagles

While the majority of major sports leagues hand out rings to the winning team of their respective championship, no league rivals the NFL when it comes to said rings ... a Super Bowl ring is among the most respected pieces of sports memorabilia.
The individuality of each Super Bowl ring is what makes them so special - and what makes ranking Super Bowl rings so difficult. With 58 rings spanning nearly six decades, finding the 20 best of all time was not an easy task, but someone had to do it.
Ranking Super Bowl rings
20. Super Bowl I - Green Bay Packers

- Super Bowl I: Packers 35, Chiefs 10 (1967)
While not overly flashy with just one diamond set in a globe to signify the Packers as "world" champions, they say you never forget your first. So we have to put some respect on Vince Lombardi delivering Green Bay the first Super Bowl (and Super Bowl ring) ever.
19. Super Bowl IV - Kansas City Chiefs

- Super Bowl IV: Chiefs 23, Vikings 7 (1970)
It's easy to forget that Len Dawson and Hank Stram were Kansas City's original Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid - I bet Mahomes has never smoked a cigarette at halftime of a Super Bowl, though. This ring has a much flashier look than Super Bowl I, and having "poise" written on one side with the AFL logo on the other and the ruby red surrounding a football-encrusted diamond goes crazy.
18. Super Bowl V - Baltimore Colts

- Super Bowl V: Colts 16, Cowboys 13 (1971)
The first Super Bowl ring to actually incorporate the team's logo, having the Colts horseshoe around a diamond with the added blue jewels is a strong look. The side of the ring has the Lombardi Trophy, which gives it an extra oomph. This is also the only Super Bowl ring that the MVP of the actual game never received because Dallas' Chuck Howley remains the only Super Bowl MVP to come from the losing team.
17. Super Bowl III - New York Jets

- Super Bowl III: Jets 16, Colts 7 (1969)
Everyone knows the story of Joe Namath famously guaranteeing the Jets victory before Super Bowl III, which gives this ring a little bit of a bump, as does it being the first Super Bowl ring awarded to an AFL team. The diamond is flashy for sure, but the AFL factor is why this ring belongs on the list, and you have to respect how prominently the AFL logo is featured on the side.
16. Super Bowl VII - Miami Dolphins

- Super Bowl VII: Dolphins 14, Washington 7 (1973)
Pour one out for Mercury Morris, and remember to pop a champagne bottle in his honor every year when the last undefeated team in the NFL loses. There are certainly grander Super Bowl rings than this one, but this is the only ring that can claim a perfect season. One side of the ring features 17-0 with "perfect season" underneath, and the other has the Dolphins logo ... it's perfect, no notes.
15. Super Bowl XXVII - Dallas Cowboys

- Super Bowl XXVII: Cowboys 52, Bills 17 (1993)
One of the most surprising things when looking at all 58 Super Bowl rings is how little some incorporate the actual team logo/colors - the San Francisco 49ers may be the biggest culprit of this. Jerry Jones, on the other hand, sure loves the Dallas star and made sure it was prominent on the first Cowboys ring during his ownership tenure. The ring also has the NFL logo on one side and the Super Bowl logo on the other to give it some more shine.
14. Super Bowl XX - Chicago Bears

- Super Bowl XX: Bears 46, Patriots 10 (1986)
Nothing is more important when judging Super Bowl rings than to be able to take one look at it and know which team it belongs to. You see that Chicago C and immediately know it's Da Bears. And unlike many rings featuring a word on the side such as "poise," "confidence," or "execution," the '85 Bears have "attitude" etched into the ring. There's not a better word to describe Mike Ditka's team.
13. Super Bowl XLIII - Pittsburgh Steelers

- Super Bowl XLIII: Steelers 27, Cardinals 23 (2009)
The ring for arguably the best Super Bowl of all time also happens to be one of the coolest. The Steelers were the first Super Bowl winner to put six diamonds on the ring to signify their six Super Bowl wins; the New England Patriots are the only other team to tie that record. Plus, having the gold, red, and blue highlighted in the logo to represent the three materials to make steel - coal, iron ore, and steel scrap - gives it even more pop.
12. Super Bowl VI - Dallas Cowboys

- Super Bowl VI: Cowboys 24, Dolphins 3 (1972)
The Cowboys' first Super Bowl ring remains their best - not even Jones could top this one when he took over the team. The blue star is just so perfect, and with a diamond featured in the middle, it makes it all that much sweeter. The ring is also surprisingly subtle for how prominent the Cowboys logo is within it.
11. Super Bowl LII - Philadelphia Eagles

- Super Bowl LII: Eagles 41, Patriots 33 (2018)
This is the ring I had the hardest time with because, man, that Eagles logo looks so good over top of the Lombari Trophy. It also includes an ode to the fans with "Fly Eagles Fly" etched into the bottom of the band, and we all know how passionate Philly fans are about this team. The word "family" is featured on one side, too, which is a great descriptor for that team. I wish I could have put this one higher, but there are some really great rings.
10. Super Bowl XIII - Pittsburgh Steelers

- Super Bowl XIII: Steelers 35, Cowboys 31 (1979)
The only 70s Steelers Super Bowl ring to make the list, this one is far and away the nicest of the Chuck Noll era in the Steel City. While it may not be as showy as some of the other rings in the top 10, it's perfectly Pittsburgh. It has the three four-pointed stars that represent diamonds, and the Steelers logo is based on the Steelmark created by the United States Steel Corporation, making this the best representation of a city in any Super Bowl ring.
9. Super Bowl XXXIII - Denver Broncos

- Super Bowl XXXIII: Broncos 34, Falcons 19 (1999)
No Super Bowl ring does a better job showing how many Lombardis a franchise has than this one. Unlike other rings signifying their number of Super Bowl wins with diamonds or actual Lombardi Trophies, the Broncos showed off their second straight Super Bowl win by putting the logo on the ring twice. It's a great logo and subtle way to flex - the side also has "back 2 back" etched in it.
8. Super Bowl XI - Oakland Raiders

- Super Bowl XI: Raiders 32, Vikings 14 (1977)
Pretty much every single Super Bowl ring is some combination of gold and silver. There are three exceptions ... and they all belong to Da Raiders (read in Al Davis voice). Nobody rebelled against the league like Davis, and that's why this ring being completely silver and black puts a smile on my face. Plus, that Raiders logo on the side looks incredible.
7. Super Bowl XLIV - New Orleans Saints

- Super Bowl XLIV: Saints 31, Colts 17 (2010)
With the Saints color scheme including gold, their Super Bowl ring features even more gold than the others, which makes it stand out so much. On top of that, the logo being a fleur-de-lis - which represents New Orleans french ties and is Louisiana's state symbol - works perfectly on the ring. And having that subtle black outline around it makes it jump out even more in the bed of diamonds.
6. Super Bowl XVIII - Los Angeles Raiders

- Super Bowl XVIII: Raiders 38, Washington 9 (1984)
While Davis' third ring as Raiders owner isn't all that different than the first two with the silver and black making it so unique, there's a major difference with this one. The team won it in Los Angeles, not Oakland, and that came in the franchise's second season in the City of Angels after Davis had to sue the NFL in 1980 to move the team. He eventually won the trial in 1982, and the league's bad boy got the cherry on top two years later by giving the middle finger - ring and all - to Commissioner Pete Rozelle with his third Super Bowl victory.
5. Super Bowl 50 - Denver Broncos

- Super Bowl 50: Broncos 24, Panthers 10 (2016)
Only one Super Bowl didn't use Roman numerals to signify its number, making Super Bowl 50 that much more notable. The Broncos' choice to feature that 50 as prominently as their logo and their three Lombardi Trophies makes this one of the coolest Super Bowl rings by a mile. But what puts it over the top is having "This one's for Pat" etched on the side for owner Pat Bowlen, who famously said, "This one's for John."
4. Super Bowl XL - Pittsburgh Steelers

- Super Bowl XL: Steelers 21, Seahawks 10 (2006)
Six Super Bowl rings, but none comes close to the beauty of Super Bowl 40. The way the Steelers logo is placed over the five Lombardis after the team finally got "one for the thumb" is perfect. The ring also came after QB Ben Roethlisberger convinced Hall of Fame running back Jerome "The Bus" Bettis to play one more season to chase a Lombardi, and he ultimately won it in his hometown of Detroit before retiring on stage after the win. The XL Roman numeral is also the best in NFL history, and it's on the side.
3. Super Bowl LVI - Los Angeles Rams

- Super Bowl LVI: Rams 23, Bengals 20 (2022)
There aren't enough Super Bowl rings that feature a geographical nod, but that's why the Rams did it so right with this one. It's especially cool because it's one of only two Super Bowls to be won at home with Los Angeles beating the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium. Those palm trees, along with the Rams' gold and blue logo laying over top of the Lombardi, is just sick. The side of the ring features the Rams' head logo with "we not me" etched underneath.
2. Super Bowl LVIII - Kansas City Chiefs

- Super Bowl LVIII: Chiefs 25, 49ers 22 (2024)
The Chiefs are going to have a hard time topping last year's Super Bowl ring if they beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 59. This is easily Kansas City's coolest ring, and not just because its logo looks beautiful placed over the top of four Lombardis. It's because of all the details: "back-to-back" and "overtime" etched into it, each player's signature on the inside of their ring, a logo for team founder Lamar Hunt on the bottom. But the kicker is that it opens up to reveal the game-winning Super Bowl play etched in Andy Reid's handwriting.
1. Super Bowl LIII - New England Patriots

- Super Bowl LIII: Patriots 13, Rams 3 (2019)
Pretend all you want, but as much as you may hate the Patriots dynasty, Robert Kraft never missed with a ring. The last ring Tom Brady brought to New England is easily the best, and in my opinion, it's the greatest Super Bowl ring ever created. It's the only ring that has six Lombardis on it - the Steelers have six diamonds representing the trophy, not six actual trophies - and it has "6x" written on the side with the previous five Super Bowl years on the bottom of the band.
To take it one step further, it has "we are all Patriots" written on the inside and "still here" on the side of it. For my money, that's the hardest message ever written on a Super Bowl ring. The ring is so cool that it almost makes up for this being one of the worst Super Bowls of all time.
