Super Bowl Over/Under Odds: Chiefs vs. Eagles Total Betting Line

The Kansas City Chiefs will soon continue their quest for a historic three-peat when they clash with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 Super Bowl. Super Bowl 59 is set to take place in New Orleans from the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, Feb. 9 (6:30 p.m. ET, FOX).

The Super Bowl Over/Under odds are still projecting a high-scoring clash, though we're starting to see some minor differences among our best Super Bowl betting sites.

Let's dive into the current betting total for the game and which books offer the best prices. The Super Bowl spread odds still show the Chiefs as the 1.5-point favorites.

2025 Super Bowl Over/Under odds

There was universal agreement when this market first opened, with all of our best NFL betting sites setting the total at 49.5 for the Big Game.

Some books are still sitting on that number, but we're now seeing some slight separation. The most notable difference lies at DraftKings, which is alone while posting a total of 48.5. Over bettors need to weigh the value of that extra point though, as you'll be paying notably more with DraftKings offering -118 odds.

The rest of our best sportsbooks sit at 49 or 49.5, with most offering -110 for the Over. The latter leads to an implied probability of 52.38%, while DraftKings sits at 54.13%.

FanDuel and Caesars are also the lone books offering 49.5. That's clearly a draw for Under bettors, though at FanDuel you'll pay extra juice at -115, which implies a 53.49% probability.

Kansas City's two playoff games averaged 49 points, while the Eagles' three postseason encounters averaged 53.3 points. It was a shootout when these teams last met in Super Bowl 57, with Kansas City winning 38-35 (73 total points).

How to bet on the Super Bowl

1. Point spread betting (covering the spread)

In point spread betting, one team is considered the "favorite" and the other the "underdog." The favorite must win by a certain number of points (the spread) for a bet on them to win. The underdog can either win outright or lose by fewer points than the spread to win the bet.

• Example:
• The Chiefs -1.5 (-115), and the Eagles are +1.5 (-105)
• The Chiefs, the Super Bowl odds favorites, are favored by 1.5 points. If you back the Chiefs, they must win by at least two points for your bet to pay out
• The Eagles are 1.5-point underdogs. If you pick the Eagles, they must lose by one point or win for your bet to pay out
• A $115 bet on the Chiefs will profit $100 if they win win by at least two points
• A $105 bet on the Eagles will yield a $10 profit if they lose by one or win Super Bowl 59

2. Moneyline betting (straight bet on the winner)

In a moneyline bet, you are simply betting on which team will win the game, with the odds reflecting the likelihood of each team winning.

• Example:
• Chiefs -125 vs Eagles +105
• A $125 bet on the Chiefs will profit $100 if they win
• A $100 bet on the Eagles will garner a $105 profit if they win
• The negative number preceding the Chiefs' odds means they are the favorites, while a positive in front of the Eagles' odds denotes underdog status

3. Over/Under (total points)

With an Over/Under bet, you are predicting whether the total combined points of both teams will be higher or lower than a set number.

• Example:
• Over 49.5 (-110) vs Under 49.5 (-110)
• At time of writing, all of our best NFL betting sites have the total set at 49.5
• If you bet on the Over, you need the combined score of both teams to be 50 points or more for your bet to win
• If you bet on the Under, you need the combined score to be 49 points or fewer

4. Prop bets (proposition bets)

Prop bets are wagers on specific events or statistics during the game, such as which player will score the first touchdown, how many yards a player will rush, or whether a quarterback will have a completion of over a determined number of yards. 

• Example:
• Will Saquon Barkley score a touchdown at any point in the game?
• At FanDuel, the odds for Barkley to hit pay dirt currently stand at -185
• In this case, a $185 bet would win $100 if he scores a touchdown
• You can also do yes/no bets, like predicting whether a running back will score the game's first touchdown

5. Parlay betting

A parlay allows you to combine multiple bets (point spread, moneyline, over/under, etc.) into one bet. The potential payout increases because you’re betting on several outcomes, but all of them must win for you to collect.

• Example:
• You could parlay the Chiefs to win by at least two points (-115) while picking the Over on 49.5 (-110). If both bets win, you’ll receive a larger payout than betting on each individually
• The combined odds of the above parlay are +257. If both legs are successful, a winning $100 bet would profit $257
• If you were to make those bets individually, two $50 bets would only garner a total profit of $93.07

What do Super Bowl odds mean?

Summary of American odds:

• Negative odds (-): Indicates the favorite, and how much you need to bet to win $100. For example, -150 means you need to bet $150 to win $100.
• Positive odds (+): Indicates the underdog, and how much you would win if you bet $100. For example, +200 means a $100 bet would win you $200 if the underdog wins.

When placing a bet, you’ll also typically encounter the term "juice" or "vig", which is the sportsbook's commission. Most bets are listed at odds of -110, meaning you’d have to bet $110 to win $100.
