A busy week in the NFL saw multiple contenders rise or fall by the updated Super Bowl 2025 odds entering NFL Week 8.

The Kansas City Chiefs remain the Super Bowl odds favorites after beating the San Francisco 49ers by double digits in the biggest game on Sunday.

That came hours after the Detroit Lions handed the rival Minnesota Vikings their first loss of 2024 to jump back into the top three in the title odds.

Don't sleep on the Washington Commanders, who just keep climbing across our NFL betting sites after a sneaky 5-2 start.

Here's a look at the biggest Super Bowl movement by the NFL Week 8 odds.

Super Bowl odds line movement this week

Our NEW NFL player prop odds tool can help you find the best odds on any market across legal sportsbooks in your area!

Lions (+1000 ➡️ +800)

The Lions entered the season as one of the Super Bowl favorites, but a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 briefly threw the market off their scent.

Four straight wins later - the last coming at the expense of the previously unbeaten Vikings - have Detroit back in the top three in the title odds with Jared Goff playing like a legitimate NFL MVP odds candidate through seven weeks.

That win nudged the Lions to +800 at BetMGM with odds ranging from +750 to +850 across our best sports betting sites. In short, this is a bona fide contender with so many ways to win - even after losing star defender Aidan Hutchinson last week.

Packers (+2000 ➡️ +1600)

Things looked pretty dire for the Packers in Week 1, when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles and seemingly lost star QB Jordan Love for the season.

He missed just two starts due to a sprained MCL, and he's played at a high level in three games since his return - averaging 272.8 passing yards with a combined 13 TDs to lead Green Bay to a 3-1 record.

That includes Sunday's thrilling 24-22 win over the Houston Texans, another upstart title contender, to move to 5-2 on the season. They're just behind the NFC North-leading Lions.

Commanders (+4000 ➡️ +3500)

Another week, another win for the Commanders under first-year coach Dan Quinn, who is now among the favorites by the NFL Coach of the Year odds.

The latest win was a 40-7 beatdown of the Carolina Panthers to move Washington to 5-2 through seven weeks for the first time since 2008. That's why some of our best Super Bowl betting sites have this team priced as short as +2800 to win it all.

The only concern leaving Week 7 was a rib injury to star rookie QB Jayden Daniels, who left Sunday's blowout win and didn't return. Assuming he's healthy, this team feels like a legitimate threat to win the NFC East ... or more.

49ers (+700 ➡️ +850)

It's bad enough that the 49ers can't seem to get over the proverbial hump against the Chiefs, who followed up their Super Bowl victory from February with a 10-point win over the Niners at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.

But San Francisco also lost Brandon Aiyuk to what the team fears could be a season-ending ACL injury. He joins star running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) - who has missed all season and features an uncertain timeline to return - on the sidelines for an increasingly depleted 49ers offense.

We saw how that looks on Sunday, when Brock Purdy threw three interceptions. This team still has a title upside, but the floor is starting to drop for this group.

Jets (+3000 ➡️ +5000)

The nightmare season (or two) continues for the Jets, who lost on Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers to tumble to 2-5 on the season.

That 22-point loss comes two weeks after the team fired head coach Robert Saleh and just a few days after it traded for star receiver Davante Adams, who was held without a catch in the second half in another tough day for Aaron Rodgers.

It turns out that a midseason trade for a 31-year-old wideout doesn't magically change your season outlook, especially when your all-world defense gives up 37 points to Russell Wilson in his season debut.

If you still believe in the Jets, they're dealing as high as +5500 at FanDuel, where a $10 bet would return a $550 profit if they somehow turn things around.

Seahawks to win the NFC West (+270)

In a division where the favorites are falling apart at the seams, the Seahawks quietly lead the NFC West with a 4-3 record through seven weeks.

Seattle's defense fell off a cliff after its front seven was decimated by injuries, but the team bounced back in a big way Sunday in a 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons - a team that had just dropped 36 and 38 points in its last two weeks.

Geno Smith was firing darts all over the yard on Sunday, finishing with 207 passing yards and two touchdowns in a turnover-free day for the Seahawks.

The road doesn't get any easier with games against the Bills, Rams, and 49ers coming up, but these FanDuel odds imply just a 27% chance that Mike Macdonald can lead this team to the division crown in his first season.

With a one-game lead and their contemporaries actively slipping further below .500, I love this plus-money value on the 'Hawks to hold onto their lead atop the NFC West.
