I'm predicting the Rangers will beat the Capitals in a game with six or fewer goals.

The Rangers are on to something, which will come as a relief to millions of New Yorkers who watched agonizingly as their beloved team lost the ability to skate, let alone play hockey.

Well, the Rangers are back in the mix.

Their work is far from done, and it continues against a team they've lost to in both previous meetings this season.

However, at least in the last few games, the Rangers and Capitals are on divergent paths. The Caps, who endured their first three-game losing streak of the season recently, have seen a slight drop off in their Vezina Trophy odds contender's play.

Logan Thompson, who should get the nod, is 3-2-2 with a .881 save percentage and a 3.39 goals-against average since the start of February. While Thompson hasn't been horrendous, he hasn't stood on his head recently, causing the Caps to slip, albeit slightly.

Meanwhile, Igor Shesterkin has recaptured his peak power.
