We’re into the final week of the NHL season with 10 games on Monday night.

The New York Islanders and Florida Panthers are both in action as they look to keep pace in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets hope to do the same to avoid a collapse in the Western Conference.

Here are our best NHL picks for Monday (odds via BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, and PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Monday’s NHL best bets

  • Puckline: Stars PL vs. Red Wings (+145 via PointsBet) ⭐⭐⭐

Monday’s NHL top picks

Moneyline: Islanders ML vs. Capitals (-165 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Islanders are making a strong push at the end of the season to secure their playoff spot with two straight wins, a 7-3-1 record in their last 11, and a 10-5-1 stretch since the beginning of March.

On the other side, the Capitals are waiting for the sweet release of the end of the season. Washington has lost six in a row while being outscored 26-11.

New York opened at -160 and BetMGM is still hanging a -165 price, despite the Islanders receiving 70% of the wagers and Ilya Sorokin confirmed. There’s decent value here with the Islanders up to -176 (FanDuel) and -175 (PointsBet) elsewhere.

Puckline: Stars PL vs. Red Wings (+145 via PointsBet) ⭐⭐⭐

Dallas is threatening Colorado for the top spot in the Central Division and has a great chance to put pressure on the Avs with a win against Detroit tonight.

The Stars have won five of their past six games and their margin of victory was at least two goals in four of those contests. The Red Wings, meanwhile, are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Penguins after a wild 7-6 shootout loss against the Sabres.

Jake Oettinger and the Stars aren’t allowing many goals as of late, surrendering one goal in each of the last three games. In fact, they’ve allowed two goals or fewer in six of their last eight games.

Dallas is a huge favorite on the moneyline, as it should be, but there is some value on the puck line at +140 given its recent performance.

Total: Predators vs. Flames Under 5.5 (-105 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

This total opened at six and the Under would’ve been a four-star play at that, but it remains a play for tonight at 5.5.

This should be a great goalie matchup between Juuse Saros (2.70 GAA, .918 SV%) and Jacob Markstrom (2.94 GAA, .892 SV%). Markstrom has been better as of late, allowing two goals or fewer in four of his last six appearances.

The first two meetings of the season went Under the total with a combined eight goals (4-1 Nashville, 2-1 Nashville).

The Predators need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and the Flames need the same. It should be a playoff-like atmosphere, with tight checking and limited scoring chances.

Prop: Joe Pavelski to score (+215 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Stars forward Joe Pavelski has been on a tear since early March. He has 12 goals in 17 games in that span, including a five-game goal streak that was snapped on Saturday.

The Red Wings have allowed 12 goals in their last two games, and the Stars should have plenty of scoring chances with Pavelski staying hot.
