As the first-round tilt between the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets moves to Colorado for Game 3, we're diving into our top Jets vs. Avalanche predictions based on the best NHL odds.

The Winnipeg Jets (52-24-6) and Colorado Avalanche (50-25-7) have engaged in two high-scoring contests to kick off their NHL playoff series, with the Jets narrowly winning Game 1 7-6 and the Avalanche responding with a 5-2 victory in Game 2, adjusting their Stanley Cup odds as the series moves to Colorado.

Puck drop is set for 10 p.m. ET on TNT from Ball Arena in Denver, Colo., and we have our best bets for another matchup that should be exciting and closely contested.

Jets vs. Avalanche predictions for Friday

Jets-Avalanche Over 6.5 (-115 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Jets and Avalanche have combined for 20 goals in the first two games of the series, which isn’t too unusual for them. There were 15 goals scored in the final two regular-season meetings between the two teams after a 4-2 Jets win in the first.

Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has struggled in the playoffs after a Vezina-quality regular season. He’s allowed 10 goals on 77 shots after giving up 18 in five games during the team's first-round exit in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Avs are hoping Alexandar Georgiev can hold down the fort (3.02 GAA, .897 SV% in the regular season). He allowed all seven goals in Game 1 before putting up 28 saves on 30 shots in Game 2.

Not only are the Avalanche the most profitable full-game Over team (49-33-2, +10.75 units per EV Analytics), but the same is true in the first period too. The first period Over is 54-28-2 in Colorado's games. That's essentially 56-28, with the two pushes coming when the line was set at two goals.

Although the Jets trend the other way, that hasn’t been the case against the Avalanche. There have been at least two goals in three of the five opening frames during 2023-24 when these teams clash, including five first-period markers in Game 1.

The Avalanche finally got off the schneid against the Jets with a 5-2 win in Game 2. They now return to Colorado, where the team owns one of the league's best home-ice advantages.
