There are a bunch of appealing goal-scoring options entering Tuesday's NHL slate. Not only are the four players I'm getting behind heating up, but two of them have enjoyed productive and successful outings recently against their opponents.

There's more star power in the below NHL player prop picks and anytime goal-scorer picks than in a Guy Ritchie-directed film. The headline acts include Alexander Ovechkin, Auston Matthews, and more.

The Great 8 scored a goal in four of five games after returning from an extended injury hiatus. He's since cooled, netting just once in the last four. However, lining up against an Anaheim Ducks defense that has allowed 15 goals in the previous three road contests. While more productive on the road this season, Ovechkin has two goals in his last four games at Capital One Arena.

A hurricane-like force is acting as an updraft on Larkin's red wings. Detroit's captain has been flying since former head coach Derek Lalonde's exit, scoring in five of the last six games. His six goals in that stint represent 33% of his season total, and I don't think he's done yet.

Larkin faces a San Jose Sharks team with the third-worst road points percentage, and he's enjoyed previous success against them, netting two in the last three head-to-heads. A winning $10 bet would profit $15.

Caufield has returned to his early-season goal-scoring preeminence. He opened the season scoring 10 in 11 games. He has netted six times in the last eight games, including a five-game streak. The main difference between now and then is his team's overall play.

The Montreal Canadiens have worked their way back into playoff contention, and Caufield has been at the center of the surge. He's facing a Utah team that has lost five of the previous six on home ice. The +200 odds add appeal to this prop, where a winning $10 bet will profit $20.

Auston Matthews to score

I'm looking to hit on a third straight Matthews' goal-scoring prop when he lines up against the Dallas Stars. While the Stars have an elite defense, allowing the eighth-fewest goals per 60 minutes 5-on-5 (2.11), Matthews has feasted throughout his career against them. The Maple Leafs' sniper has 10 goals in 12 games against Big D.

In addition, Matthews is one of the streakiest goal-scorers around, and he's heating up, netting in four of the last six games. A winning $10 wager yields a $12 profit.

MacKinnon has just one two-point game in the last five. That means he's overdue. The Colorado Avalanche captain has 20 multi-point contests out of the 44 he's played. In the last six home games, he has notched at least two points three times. He's facing a New York Rangers team that has improved recently but has struggled on the road over the last two months.

The odds are steep for my liking, but I feel good about MacKinnon registering his 21st multi-point game of the season. A winning $10 bet will profit $9.09.
