Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov has been clicking with winger Matthew Tkachuk while driving possession with a 76.5 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five. The Finn has cleared this 3.5 shot total in four consecutive games.
This play is a neutral matchup at worst, too. The Washington Capitals are a middling opponent in shot metrics, ranking 18th in attempts allowed per 60 minutes at all strengths, and 17th in CF% at five-on-five. With Barkov playing career-high minutes (23:05 per game with 4:47 on the power play), he’ll get opportunities to clear this shot total for a fifth straight outing.
