When we last took a look at the betting market for the top-selling jersey of the NFL season about a month ago it was Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels leading the way on the odds board ahead of veteran superstar QBs Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Now, with the National Football League season having pushed past its halfway point, it’s still Daniels atop those odds at one of the best sports betting sites. However, some line moves have seen Allen make gains on rival Mahomes, while a new contender has ridden a political wave to surge into a top-four position.

Allen tops Mahomes on field, catches him on board

The much-anticipated matchup between Allen’s Bills and Mahomes’ Chiefs went to Buffalo in Week 11, as they pulled out a 30-21 home victory to tag Kansas City with its first loss of the season. With the Chiefs now 10-1 and the Bills sitting at 9-2 the top overall seed in the AFC is up for grabs once again.

Allen threw for 262 yards and a touchdown while also running for 55 yards and another score in that victory for the Bills, and he currently sits as the betting favorite at FanDuel Canada on the NFL MVP odds board. And after trailing Mahomes slightly on the odds to have the top-selling NFL jersey this season a month ago at that sportsbook the two quarterbacks now both find themselves sitting at a line of +200.

Super Bowl odds

Bosa rides political wave up best-selling jersey odds

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa wasn’t listed on the odds to have the top-selling NFL jersey of the season when we analyzed this market a month ago. However, since crashing a postgame interview being done with three of his teammates while wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat after a Niners victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 27, his jersey sales have surged at the NFL Shop.

And Bosa is now listed at +350 on the odds to have the top-selling NFL jersey of the season, putting him fourth behind Daniels, Allen, and Mahomes. The defensive star was handed an $11,255 fine by the league for wearing the MAGA hat during that interview, but received plenty of publicity for the stunt especially in right-wing media circles leading up to the presidential election on Nov. 5. With election fever settling down, though, one has to wonder if Bosa’s jersey sales will settle down as well.

Daniels improves position, while other stars slide

Daniels, still the betting favorite, improved from +125 to -125 on the odds to have the top-selling NFL jersey of the season despite his Commanders having been overtaken in the NFC East standings by the Philadelphia Eagles over the past month. Washington (now 7-5) dropped a 34-26 stunner to the Dallas Cowboys, despite Daniels throwing for a pair of touchdowns and running in another.

Meanwhile, each of Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce have slid from +260 to +440 on the board. Rodgers in particular looks like a strong candidate to keep slipping down this list as the season winds down, as his New York Jets have now lost two games in a row and sit at an ugly 3-8. Considering how Rodgers’ tenure with the team has gone over the past two seasons, Jets fans would probably no longer want him to take up residence on their backs.

So who is the updated pick for this betting prop?

Mahomes was our pick in this spot last time around, with the argument being that his Chiefs were once again looking likely for a Super Bowl appearance and previously reported data suggesting that players on teams that make it all the way to the NFL’s championship game end up doing very well on jersey sales.

We can’t argue that Kansas City isn’t still a top title contender – the Chiefs hold down the best record in the AFC despite their setback against the Bills over the weekend. However, Buffalo looks like the team with the momentum right now, having won six games in a row and sporting a gaudy +106 points differential on the season (the Chiefs are just +52). And a Bills appearance in the Super Bowl would likely lead to every person in western New York owning an Allen jersey by the time that kickoff rolled around.

My Pick: Josh Allen (+200)
