In a week of Champions League action that features several teams facing mountains to climb, Borussia Dortmund's is the highest. The German side welcomes Barcelona to Signal Iduna Park (3 p.m. ET, Paramount+) today, but faces a 4-0 deficit on aggregate.

While I anticipate a tight affair in the second leg, I'll back Barcelona to win in my Borussia Dortmund vs. Barcelona prediction, as I look to replicate last week's success.

The gulf in class in the first leg was as evident as Coke's superiority over Pepsi. While you have my sympathy if you're a Pepsi proponent, we all know Barcelona is distinctly better this season than their reeling opponents. 

Hope and confidence must have completely drained from the collective after getting humiliated in Barcelona.

While Dortmund's 2-2 draw in Munich against Bayern on Saturday looks good from afar, it wasn't as impressive as the result suggests. Dortmund took advantage of an injury-ravaged Bayern to leave with a share of the spoils. That result won't do much to plaster over an abjectly disappointing domestic campaign.

Dortmund are in eighth place in the Bundesliga and have won just three of the last 12 at home.

Meanwhile, Hansi Flick's indomitable Barcelona are on a 24-match unbeaten run in 2025. On track for a quadruple, Barcelona could be forgiven if complacency sets in during Tuesday's proceedings. 

Even if it does, I can't see Dortmund magically turn it on after stumbling for most of the season.

Already beating Dortmund 3-2 at Signal Iduna Park in the group phase, it's been 16 games since Barcelona last tasted defeat on enemy soil. Dortmund will go down swinging, but Barcelona should take advantage of a desperate team that must attack without much regard for exposing itself to the counter.

Ordinarily, this would be a four or five-star pick. I backed Lewandowski to score in the first leg, and he duly obliged, scoring a brace. He has 29 goals in 28 matches against Dortmund since leaving the club 11 years ago. However, if the score remains unassailable, Barcelona will almost assuredly withdraw their talisman early in the second half.

That gives the ruthless Pole just over 50 minutes or so to score. The -105 odds would yield a $9.52 profit if he bags a goal before being pulled off. While the risk of the wager increases with his likely premature departure, this prop still represents one of the best.
