On Tuesday, England and Slovenia will meet for their seventh head-to-head showdown, this time in the Group C finale from Cologne, and we have you covered with our England-Slovenia predictions based on the odds from our best soccer betting sites

England were ripped apart by neutrals and pundits alike after their abject 1-1 draw against Denmark. The Three Lions, the pre-tournament Euro 2024 odds favorites, have slipped into third place on the odds leaderboard and require a much improved technical performance against a Slovenian side that needs a victory to advance to the knockout phase.

Slovenia have lost five and tied one in their six previous matches against England, while Gareth Southgate's side look to advance to the Round of 16 with an unbeaten group-stage record for the fourth straight time at the Euros.

Their only previous head-to-head encounter at a major tournament occurred at World Cup 2010, which England won 1-0.

England vs. Slovenia score prediction

England 1 vs. Slovenia 0

England have shown no signs of the team that scored nine goals during the group stage at the 2022 World Cup. Cagey, unconfident, and lacking ideas, England's first two games eerily resembled their opening two matches at Euro 2020, where they beat Croatia 1-0 and tied Scotland 0-0. England beat Czechia 1-0 in the final Euro 2020 group game, precisely the predicted script for Tuesday's contest.

Slovenia aren't dead and buried yet and will leave everything on the pitch. They will do their utmost to frustrate England by emulating Serbia and Denmark's game plan. England's prolific front four of Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Phil Foden, and Bukayo Saka haven't found any chemistry and are struggling to create chances. That won't magically change against a disciplined and organized Slovenia side.

At +500, FanDuel's odds imply a probability of 16.67%, and a $10 wager pays a profit of $50 if it hits.

England vs. Slovenia anytime goal scorer prediction

Harry Kane, England

Like most people, I haven't been impressed with Kane's Euro 2024 performances. He had two touches in the first half of England's win against Serbia and followed up that performance with 22 touches against Denmark, the lowest of any England starter. His only touch in the Danish box resulted in his first goal of the tournament, a quintessentially Kane statistic.

Despite being far from the level his team requires, England's captain offers a consistent goal threat regardless of how few touches he gets. Bellingham endured a woeful outing against Denmark and never looked like scoring. Of the 22 players on the pitch, Kane represents the best anytime goalscorer bet. He scored 44 goals in his debut season with Bayern Munich and has bulged the old onion bag 13 times in 24 Euro and World Cup matches.

England vs. Slovenia best bet

England ML and Under 2.5 total goals

England haven't scored more than two goals in the last six European Championship group matches, dating back to a 2-1 win over Wales in the second match of Euro 2016. Despite an array of lethal and prolific goalscorers, the Three Lions haven't found the fluidity and free-flowing style many thought would come naturally.

Slovenia haven't allowed more than a goal in five straight and seven of their last eight. Head coach Matjaž Kek will have his side prepared to defend in numbers with exceptional organization, shape, and discipline. Meanwhile, England have conceded only one goal - in the last match against Denmark - in their previous six group encounters.

At +110, BetMGM's odds represent a 47.62% win probability, and a $10 wager will pay a profit of $11 if it hits.
