Manchester City endured a bitterly disappointing campaign, walking away empty-handed in terms of silverware. And no, I don't count the Community Shield. However, Guardiola has his stud back in central midfield, with Rodri set to return after missing eight months with an ACL injury.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner is City's lynchpin, their defensive leader, and the player who makes everything tick. The FIFA Club World Cup represents a fresh slate for City, who have already made a splash in the transfer market, signing Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Tijjani Reijnders.

They are one of the front-runners to win the tournament, which is an ominous omen for a Wydad AC team that gained entry into the tournament by winning the CAF Champions League in 2021-22.
