On Tuesday, Peru and Canada will battle in a consequential Group A Copa America encounter as we take a look at some appealing Peru vs. Canada odds and predictions based on the odds from our best soccer betting sites

Peru represents an intriguing challenge for Canada in their second Copa America match. The Peruvians have made it to the semifinals in four of their previous five tournaments but are winless in the last six competitive World Cup qualification matches and sit at the foot of the CONMEBOL standings.

Canada are the favorites to secure their first Copa America victory after losing 2-0 to Argentina in the opener.

According to the Copa America odds, neither team is expected to make a deep run. Peru played a stout defensive match against Chile in their Group A opener, securing a 0-0 draw. Tuesday's match kicks off at 6 p.m. ET at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. (FS1).

Peru vs. Canada score prediction

Canada 1 vs. Peru 0

Canada created more chances in the first half against Argentina than most in 90 minutes. However, they were more wasteful than somebody who takes one bite of dinner and discards the rest. I expect Canada to create enough chances to bury at least one. That said, Peru are as defensively organized and disciplined as they come and will prove a stubborn walnut to crack.

With Peru's discernible lack of cutting edge, Canada should be able to keep their second clean sheet in the last four matches. Jesse Marsch may not get a better opportunity to secure his first win as Canada's head coach at a major tournament. At +650, FanDuel's odds imply a 13.33% probability and a $10 wager pays a profit of $65 if Canada wins 1-0.

Best odds: +650 via FanDuel

Peru vs. Canada anytime goal scorer prediction

Jonathan David, Canada

Jonathan David has 26 goals in 49 matches with Canada, three behind all-time leading goalscorer Cyle Larin. David is a poacher at his best and has garnered recent attention from Chelsea in the Premier League. The Canadian striker has struggled to find the net lately and hasn't potted one in five matches. His last goal for Canada was scored against Jamaica in November 2023.

Overdue and hungry to make an impact on one of the world's biggest stages, David should get at least one golden scoring chance against Peru. I expect him to make it count and lead his country to their first Copa America victory. The +275 odds represent a 26.67% implied probability, and a $10 bet pays a profit of $27.50 if it hits.

Best odds: +275 via bet365

Peru vs. Canada best bet

Canada and Under 2.5 total goals

There were promising signs galore for Canada in their opener against Argentina, at least offensively. The Canadians created a handful of chances that should have been slotted home. While they were susceptible defensively, allowing four breakaways, two of which were to Lionel Messi, Canada were exciting, enterprising, and full of creativity.

Peru provide an altogether different challenge. Resolute and tough to break down, the Peruvians have kept three successive clean sheets, two in pre-tournament friendlies against Paraguay and El Salvador.

While they've allowed just two goals in their previous six, Peru is comparatively toothless going forward. They lost captain Luis Advincula, one of the team's more creative players, to an Achilles injury against Chile and scored just once in their last six World Cup qualifiers. BetMGM's +320 odds imply a winning probability of 23.81%, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $32.
