Old rivals Spain and Croatia line up against each other on Saturday for the fourth successive time at the European Championships, and we have you covered with our Spain vs. Croatia props picks and predictions based on the odds from our best soccer betting sites.

Group B is the "Group of Death" at Euro 2024, featuring three perennial rivals: Spain, Croatia, and Italy. These teams frequently encounter each other in major tournaments. Albania aims to play the role of spoiler in this highly competitive group.

Neither team can afford to start the tournament with a loss. Things get underway on Saturday at noon ET at Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, which will also serve as the venue for the July 14 final.

According to the Euro 2024 odds, Spain are the favorites to topple Croatia in the opener and have the fourth-shortest odds to win their fourth European Championship.

Spain has recently had the upper hand against Croatia, winning two of their last head-to-head matches in European Championships. Their most recent encounter was a thrilling 5-3 victory for Spain at Euro 2020, the second-highest-scoring game in the tournament's history.

Spain vs. Croatia score prediction

Spain 2 - Croatia 1

There are always goals when these teams meet. Three of the last five head-to-head battles have seen at least five goals. While another high-scoring affair is possible, things might start slightly more cagey, particularly as it's the tournament opener for both teams.

Croatia beat Spain 2-1 at Euro 2016. I like that as a scoreline, but the Spaniards taking all three points. Spain have an exciting youth contingent, particularly in attack with 21-year-old Nico Williams and 16-year-old Barcelona product Lamine Yamal. We'll have to see if head Luis de la Fuente opts to start Yamal, who would become the youngest player in the tournament's history if he sees the pitch - which he should. Those two, along with Álvaro Morata, will look to be more incisive than Spain teams of the past. At +650, DraftKings' odds offer an implied probability of 13.33%, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $65 if it hits.

Spain vs. Croatia anytime goal scorer prediction

Álvaro Morata anytime goal scorer, Spain

Alvaro Morata has been around a long time. The 31-year-old made his national team debut in 2014 and has knack for scoring on world's biggest stages. While Morata has 35 goals in 73 matches for Spain, he has six in 10 European Championship games and three in four at the World Cup. He has also scored nine goals in 16 European Championship qualifiers.

Morata should be the beneficiary of playing between two lightning-quick and silky smooth youngsters. He won't be tasked with much more than holding up play well, bringing his teammates into the game, and, most importantly, scoring. bet365 offers the best value of our best sports betting sites. At +187, a $10 bet will pay a profit of $18.70 and has an implied probability of 34.84%.

Spain vs. Croatia best bet

Spain win and Over 1.5 goals

Based on historical context and the attacking talent on display, we can expect a few goals in this one. However, I'm erring on the side of caution with 1.5 goals as the Over/Under, providing a buffer if it's not as expansive as previous matches between the sides. Spain beat up on Romania (5-0) and Northern Ireland (5-1) in their final pre-tournament friendlies. While impressive scores, Croatia is far superior and will push Spain to the limit, as they have so many times before in pivotal contests.

Spain have won the possession battle in 136 competitive games on the bounce. Germany, in the Euro 2008 final, were the last team to out-possess La Roja. I expect a similar scenario to unfold in Berlin. However, Spain will combine their possession with some cutting edge this time. At +155, DraftKings' odds imply a probability of 39.22%, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $15.50.

Best odds: +155 via DraftKings
