Germany and Switzerland meet on Sunday in their final Group A encounter with both team eyeing advancement into the Round of 16, as we profile our Switzerland vs. Germany predictions based on the odds from our best soccer betting sites

Germany require a single point against Switzerland to secure top spot in Group A, while Switzerland need only a draw to join Sunday's opponent in the Round of 16. Switzerland are unbeaten in their last three against Germany but have just one win in their previous 21 head-to-head battles, losing 16 and tying four.

Germany, the consensus favorites to win Sunday's encounter, have leapfrogged England according to the Euro 2024 odds. Joint favorites with Spain to win the tournament, Germany are the second team to score seven goals in the first two European Championship matches. Sunday's match from Frankfurt kicks off at 3 p.m. ET (Fox Sports).

Switzerland vs. Germany score prediction

Germany 2 - Switzerland 1

Switzerland should provide Germany with their stiffest challenge of the group stage. Switzerland have played well recently against the Germans, winning one and tying two in the last three. They also have a ton to play for, knowing a tie will see them through to the Round of 16. While they will most likely advance even with a loss, Switzerland won't want to leave their fate in another team's hands.

That said, besides Spain, Germany have been the best team in the early stages of Euro 2024. While Hungary and Scotland aren't elite teams, Germany reinforced the disparity by dominating from start to finish. Hungary had a few chances but Manuel Neuer was up to the challenge each time. With elite talent at each position, Germany have few noticeable vulnerabilities. Although a solid team that will push Germany, Switzerland lack the overall quality to upset the in-form home nation. FanDuel's +700 odds imply a 12.50% probability, and a $10 wager pays a profit of $70 if Germany wins 2-1.

Switzerland vs. Germany anytime goal scorer prediction

Jamal Musiala, Germany

Jamal Musiala is benefitting from Germany's expansive and free-flowing attack, with Toni Kroos pulling the strings like a New York Philharmonic violinist. Musiala scored a goal in each of the opening two matches, both in the first half. Not known for scoring a lot in the national setup, Musiala had just two goals in 29 matches prior to Euro 2024.

However, I'm rolling with the hot hand, backing Musiala based on his form in the first two matches. With confidence seemingly at an all-time high, at least with Germany, Musiala should get at least one or two chances against the Swiss. He was clinical against Hungary and Scotland, and I expect the same level of ruthlessness in the group-stage finale. In the 2023-24 season, Musiala bagged 12 goals in 38 matches with Bayern Munich. FanDuel's +240 odds off the highest potential payout of our best sports betting sites. The odds imply a 29.41% probability, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $24 if he scores his third of the tournament.

Best odds: +240 via FanDuel

Switzerland vs. Germany best bet

Germany ML & Over 1.5 goals

Sunday's Group A encounter poses an intriguing proposition. Ordinarily, considering the circumstances, I'd think long and hard about backing a draw. Germany have advanced and will win the group with a draw, while Switzerland only needs a point to guarantee a berth in the knockout phase. Switzerland haven't lost the final group match in eight successive tournament appearances. However, I think Julian Nagelsmann will resist the temptation to rotate personnel. Germany have an excellent opportunity to keep their foot on the gas and build momentum before the Round of 16. Nagelsmann won't want to tinker too much after sourcing a winning formula.

Germany played exceptionally in the opening two matches, dominating possession and scoring chances. They outscored Scotland and Hungary 7-1 and were irrepressible, especially in front of their vociferous fan base. You might want to wait and see if Nagelsmann makes any drastic changes to the starting lineup. If not, Germany should take care of business and become the third host nation to win all three group-stage matches. At +100, BetMGM's odds imply a 50% probability, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $10 if it hits.
