College football picks made Thursday; odds subject to change.

Mario Williams Over 35.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Williams might already be Tulane’s top receiver. After spending the past three seasons with Oklahoma and USC, Williams delivered 124 yards on four catches in his debut for the Green Wave in Week 1.

The thing is, Williams did his damage on five targets while playing 13 passing snaps during a 52-0 blowout. It’s difficult to imagine what Williams might do in a negative game script, with Tulane trading as a double-digit underdog against Kansas State on Saturday.

Williams’ receiving line opened at 29.5 at Caesars, but it should continue to climb, with FanDuel listing the same prop at 42.5. This is an opportunity for bettors to explore the alternate prop markets at our best sports betting sites.

Aidan Chiles Over 152.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michigan State quarterback Chiles made himself into a meme over the weekend. He said during a press conference to take the Over only for the Spartans to score 16 points in a win over Florida Atlantic. The Over didn’t get to the window.

Lost in the teasing of Chiles was how aggressive Michigan State was in the downfield passing game under new head coach Jonathan Smith. Chiles had an average depth of target of 13.5, completing 10-of-24 passes for 114 yards and two interceptions.

Between better efficiency from Chiles and a negative game script against Maryland, he can clear 152.5 passing yards in multiple ways. Projections have him flirting with 200 passing yards, showing a clear edge on this prop.

As Chiles would say: If you bet, take the Over.

Luke Altmyer 25-plus rushing yards (+120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s important to remember that sacks count as negative rushing yards for a quarterback. If that’s a concern, ESPN BET offers the longest rush market, which could be more appealing. Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer has a long rush of 12.5.

But I have no fear in this matchup. Kansas has typically struggled against rushing quarterbacks. Altmyer should know; he ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns on 13 attempts against the Jayhawks last year.

I’m projecting Altmyer to clear 30 yards on the ground against KU in the rematch, which would mean a bet on his current line of 20.5.

DraftKings is offering us a more significant edge in the alternate market, with bettors netting a $12 payout on a $10 bet for Altmyer to record 25-plus rushing yards.
