Scottie Scheffer is a heavy betting favorite by the 2025 WM Phoenix Open odds with the field officially set for the People's Open at TPC Scottsdale. The tournament will begin Thursday and run up until kickoff on Super Bowl Sunday.

These odds have been up at DraftKings for several months, and I hope you placed some early wagers.

The way-too-early odds included Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and many more stars who ultimately opted out of this event. As such, the betting odds for Scheffler and much of the rest of the field shortened significantly.

Scheffler was crowned the PGA Tour Player of the Year for the second straight year. The 28-year-old won six tournaments, the Tour Championship, and the Olympic gold medal in 2024. Four of those six tournament victories were in signature events, with the others being his second career Masters win and The Players Championship.

He won this tournament back-to-back before last year's T-3 finish at 18-under. He'll return to TPC Scottsdale next week as the class of the field.

These odds shortened to +320 to win the event after the field was announced.

My WM Phoenix Open pick to win

Robert MacIntyre

Best odds: +4500 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 2.17%

MacIntyre debuted at TPC Scottsdale with a missed cut last year. He went on to win the RBC Canadian Open in June and Genesis Scottish Open in July for his first two PGA Tour victories.

Putting is the most important metric at TPC Scottsdale and that's a top strength of the Scotsman. His odds are inflated due to many of the higher-profile names on the proposed early oddsboard, and they'll shorten quickly once the field begins to take shape.

WM Phoenix Open betting history

Nick Taylor won last year's WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale in a playoff over Charley Hoffman at minus-21. His odds were around +12500 prior to Round 1 and would've returned a profit of $1,250 on a winning $10 bet.

But his odds were much higher than that when the market first opened, largely because many of the big names on the opening oddsboard withdrew well before the tournament began.
