Daytona 500 betting favorites
Brad Keselowski (+1200)
He's gotta win one eventually, right? Keselowski is one of NASCAR's premier superspeedway drivers - he's won six times at Talladega - but his lone win at Daytona came in the Coke Zero 400 almost a decade ago. He'd led a combined 112 laps in his last three attempts in the Daytona 500 with just one top-10 finish to show for it.
Best odds: +1300 via FanDuel ($10 to win $130)
Joey Logano (+1200)
Logano opens as the co-favorite after winning last year's Cup Series championship, but he's dealing as high as +1400 at DraftKings to win this race for the second time in his career (2015). He finished second in this race two years ago and will look to become the first reigning champion to win the Daytona 500 since Dale Jarrett in 2000.
Best odds: +1400 via DraftKings ($10 to win $140)
Ryan Blaney (+1200)
Another co-favorite looking for his first win in the Great American Race, Blaney has won twice before at Daytona and finished second in the Daytona 500 two other times (2017, 2020). He finished 30th in last year's opener but scored a top-10 finish in his previous two tries to capture this elusive crown jewel.
Best odds: +1300 via FanDuel ($10 to win $130)
Kyle Busch (+1400)
Busch has accomplished more than any active driver in the Cup Series, but he's yet to secure the checkered flag in NASCAR's most storied event. He failed to win a single race last year but enters as the co-favorite to win the 2025 opener at some of our best sports betting apps after finishing second in his last race at Daytona in August.
Best odds: +1400 via BetMGM ($10 to win $140)
How to bet on Daytona 500
When looking to bet this event early, scout previous race results from Daytona as well as what happened across the entirety of last season, especially at superspeedways.
Results from early and late in last year's campaign will be particularly important, but we can also look at drivers who produced consistent top-five or top-10 finishes. Those who reliably placed well but were kept out of the winner's circle - and thus didn't garner as much attention - could represent ideal value targets for bettors.
Qualifying will significantly impact the eventual odds, but the opening lines could still be the best gauge of who's expected to contend regardless of starting position. Anyone high up on the early oddsboard who starts from a less-than-ideal position would be a good target at inflated odds.
While the best drivers in the sport covet a Daytona 500 win, this race is often friendliest to long shots with three of the last four winners boasting odds of +3300 or longer. The reason for that? Pure chaos. Superspeedway races often feature high speeds and big crashes that can wipe out half the field at once when "the big one" strikes.
That's why we recommend betting smaller amounts on each driver in the Daytona 500 while targeting a handful of drivers for your bet slip to avoid staking too much on any one competitor. That's an easy way to stay invested through the end of the race, too.
