While the women's Wooden Award odds race has been anticlimactic the last two years with Caitlin Clark's dominance, she's now off shining in the WNBA and it's opened the door for two sophomores to duke it out for the award.

USC's JuJu Watkins and Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo are the co-favorites by the women's Wooden Award odds at our March Madness betting sites, and the pair have been jockeying back and forth all season to take the lead.

The only other player who appears to have a shot at this point is UCLA's Lauren Betts, with UConn's Paige Bueckers now longer than 25/1.

Wooden Award odds from our best sports betting apps.

  • JuJu Watkins: After a phenomenal freshman season, Watkins looks poised to take the torch from Clark as the country's top scorer, but a loss to Iowa lengthened her odds
  • Hannah Hidalgo: Another sophomore superstar, Hidalgo had been leading this race until a few weeks ago, but she's firmly back in it after back-to-back 30-plus point games
  • Lauren Betts: The catalyst behind an early season upset of South Carolina, UCLA's Betts is the best frontcourt player in the country and has the Bruins sitting second in the women's March Madness odds
  • Paige Bueckers: Bueckers' less-than-stellar outing against DePaul lengthened her odds drastically

JuJu Watkins Wooden Award odds (+165)

USC

While Clark led the nation with 31.6 PPG last year, Watkins was second with 27.1 and she's continued that stellar play into her second season at USC. The sophomore has become a more consistent 3-point shooter this season and already has multiple 34-plus-point performances.

Watkins has the Trojans poised to earn a top-three seed in the NCAA Tournament and if she can win the Wooden, a $10 bet pays a $16.50 profit. However, with USC's recent loss to Iowa, I think Hidalgo is the more intriguing option right now.

Hannah Hidalgo Wooden Award odds (+165)

Watkins vs. Hidalgo for the Wooden Award could end up being an all-timer. While Watkins is the bigger name, Hidalgo is having a more dynamic season with her efficiency from the floor - she's been the more impressive 3-point shooter, too.

Another feather in Hidalgo's cap is the fact that the Fighting Irish beat the Trojans by 13 earlier in the season, a game in which she put up 24 points with eight assists and five steals. It's hard to bet against Watkins, but I'd take Hidalgo at this price, with a $10 winning bet paying a $16.50 profit.

Lauren Betts Wooden Award odds (+200)

Betts has the third-shortest women

An upset win over the Gamecocks in November showed just how high UCLA's ceiling is with Betts at center. The 6-feet-7 junior went for 11 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks against South Carolina, showing she's the best two-way player in the country.

Though she's not as dynamic a scorer as Watkins or Hidalgo, she's one of the best rebounders and rim protectors in the country. If Betts keeps leading UCLA to wins in Big Ten play, she could quickly close the gap on Watkins and Hidalgo and make this a three-player race.
