Just a couple of weeks ago, the Cincinnati Bengals were a popular dark horse Super Bowl odds pick, while the Dallas Cowboys' postseason hopes had been written off.

How quickly things can change. Dallas has won two straight to move two losses behind Washington in the race for the NFC’s final wild-card spot, and Cincinnati has lost three in a row and sit three games adrift.

Cincy opened as six-point favorites for the Monday Night Football visit to Dallas (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), and our Bengals vs. Cowboys early picks and odds back the underdog. The below picks are part of our NFL Week 14 predictions

My early Bengals vs. Cowboys prediction: Cowboys +6

Prediction: Cowboys +6

Best odds: -110 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 52.38%

At 4-8, Cincinnati looks like it’s already dead in the AFC playoff race, and the players know it. “We have to change a lot from this year. We haven’t been good enough,” Joe Burrow told the Associated Press after Sunday’s 44-38 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. “This team needs to learn to find a way to win,” added centre Ted Karras.

While Cincy’s team morale is rock bottom, the Cowboys’ locker room seems rejuvenated after back-to-back wins over the Washington Commanders and New York Giants.

Dallas has recorded at least four sacks in three of four games since Micah Parsons came back from injury, and the potential return of DeMarcus Lawrence can bolster that pass rush even more — bad news for a Cincy offensive line that struggles to protect Burrow at the best of times.

CeeDee Lamb’s status is Dallas’ biggest concern after the star receiver left the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day win with a shoulder injury. However, having 10 days between games can help the Cowboys scheme up ways to move the ball without him, and it could also buy time for Lamb’s shoulder to heal.

With or without Lamb, Dallas should still be capable of scoring points against a Cincy defense that forced just one punt last week against Pittsburgh.

Moneyline

  • Bengals best odds: -245 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 71%
  • Cowboys best odds: +215 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 31.7%

At the time of writing, Cincinnati was the biggest road favorite in Week 14. DraftKings (-245) offered the best moneyline price on the visiting Bengals, while FanDuel (+215) was the best option for bettors looking to back Dallas to pull off the outright upset.

Spread

  • Bengals best odds: -5.5 (-105) via Caesars
  • Cowboys best odds: +6 (-110) via BetMGM

Cincinnati hasn’t closed as road chalk of six points or more since Week 3 of the 2022 season, and early indications suggest the Bengals might not be laying a touchdown in this one either.

Caesars was the first sportsbook to tip its hand towards action on the Cowboys, moving the Bengals down to -5.5 with discounted -105 juice. As of Monday afternoon, Dallas backers could still choose between taking +6 (-110) at BetMGM or +6.5 (-120) at FanDuel.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 49.5 (-105) via FanDuel
  • Under best odds: 49.5 (-110) via DraftKings

Oddsmakers set this total in the mid-40s on the look-ahead lines but were forced to re-open a few points higher after Cincinnati’s Week 13 game against Pittsburgh featured 82 points.

That wasn’t enough to discourage early money from pouring in on the Over, driving the total close to 50 by Monday afternoon. With Cincy’s last five games flying Over the total by an average of 18.4 points, don’t be surprised if this number reaches the low 50s by kickoff.
