Neither the New York Jets nor the Miami Dolphins have great NFL playoff odds right now, but that doesn't mean either team should lack motivation for Sunday’s divisional clash at Hard Rock Stadium (1 p.m., CBS.)

Miami was heavily criticized for looking like a soft football team in Week 13's 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers looks to quiet speculation that New York should bench him and start quarterback shopping for next season.

Our Jets vs. Dolphins player prop picks factor in both of these storylines, expecting Miami to emphasize the ground game and Rodgers to deliver a stronger performance.

De'Von Achane has been a consistent touchdown machine all season, reaching the end zone in four straight games overall and seven of eight this year with Tua Tagovailoa in the lineup.

Although six of Achane’s nine touchdowns this season have come via the pass, I also like our chances of Achane running for a score on Sunday. Miami promises to bring a more physical effort after last Thursday’s soft performance in Green Bay, and the Jets have allowed a rushing touchdown in eight straight games.

Laying juice on an anytime touchdown prop might not seem like a great value, but this -145 price at FanDuel is quite the discount from what Caesars (-161) and BetMGM (-185) are offering. If you’d rather take a shot at a bigger payday, consider Achane to score two-plus touchdowns (+430 at FanDuel) against a New York defense that has allowed three players to rush for multiple scores in a game this season.

Best Jets vs. Dolphins prop picks

Jaylen Waddle Over 45.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

Jaylen Waddle hasn’t made his fantasy owners very happy in 2024, but his numbers have improved lately. He’s pulled in 12 catches over his last two games and eclipsed this low yardage total in three of his last four, averaging more than 65 receiving yards per game during that stretch.

He’s also had his way with the Jets in recent meetings, racking up 256 yards and a touchdown in two games versus New York last year. With Jets shutdown corner Sauce Gardner out as he's nursing a hamstring injury, and New York likely to be focused on stopping Tyreek Hill, look for Waddle to be a factor in Miami’s passing game once again.

Aaron Rodgers Over 233.5 passing and rushing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -115 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 53.49%

To loosely borrow an old saying, not many things have more fury than Aaron Rodgers scorned. The veteran quarterback may be saying he doesn’t need to prove himself after speculation that the Jets may not want him back next season, but we all know he still wants to.

Opportunities in the passing game should be there against a Miami secondary that saw several starters go down to injury last week in Green Bay. The Dolphins were lit up for 336 passing yards by the Packers, a week after allowing 308 yards and four touchdowns through the air to New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye.

The hidden value here, however, could be in the rushing yards, especially with Breece Hall out. After scrambling just once during a six-game span while nursing a leg injury, Rodgers has looked more mobile the last two games and is no longer listed on the injury report. He may also be flushed out of the pocket a few times by a Miami pass rush that recorded five sacks last week.
