How to Bet on Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance After Alleged Leak

Some information about the Super Bowl halftime show was always bound to leak before the Big Game on Feb. 9, but I'm not sure anyone expected the entire performance to allegedly be released ahead of time.
That's where we're at, though, and as a result, the Super Bowl halftime show odds have been pulled from a number of our best NFL betting sites.
We've provided a complete look at all of the available markets with our view of the Super Bowl halftime show prop bets, but let's try to navigate the betting landscape following the alleged leak of Kendrick Lamar's entire performance.

B***h, Don't Kill My Vibe | +800 | 11.11% | $80 |

Money Trees | +900 | 10% | $90 |
M.A.A.D City | +900 | 10% | $90 |
This market is what sent me down the rabbit hole of looking for a potential leak, as I noticed both FanDuel and DraftKings pulled the Kendrick Lamar first song odds after featuring them as recently as Thursday.
I won't go into all of the details about the leak, because I tried to limit what I saw myself. However, what I can tell you is that the song that's reportedly set to open the halftime show isn't listed by BetMGM.
FanDuel had a much more extensive list of songs, so it's possible you already bet on what's being reported as the correct choice, but my advice as of Saturday would be to leave this market alone.
Guest performer odds
Market states that the celebrity must physically appear on stage and sing for at least 10 seconds, as listed on Setlist.fm.
Celebrity guest to appear on stage | Odds (FanDuel Ontario) | Implied probability | Profit ($10) |
---|---|---|---|
Baby Keem | -142 | 47.62% | $11 |
Future | +184 | 35.21% | $18.40 |
Metro Boomin | +184 | 35.21% | $18.40 |
Jay Rock | +205 | 32.79% | $20.50 |
Doechii | +210 | 32.26% | $21 |
Travis Scott | +250 | 28.57% | $25 |
The Weeknd | +310 | 24.39% | $31 |
Taylor Swift | +440 | 18.52% | $44 |
Lefty Gunplay | +440 | 18.52% | $44 |
Stormzy | +440 | 18.52% | $44 |
Drake | +3500 | 2.78% | $350 |
Now, FanDuel still offers its celebrity guest performer market. However, there are two very interesting chances it made within the last couple of days.
I mentioned in our Super Bowl halftime show celebrity guest odds that my favorite pick was Tyler, The Creator at +310, despite the fact he said he wouldn't be in attendance. Now, this doesn't confirm anything, but interestingly, he's been removed by FanDuel and essentially straight swapped with The Weeknd.
You could argue that's because the sportsbook decided he wasn't worth listing, but why would it remove a betting option unless it doesn't want to be exposed to further losses?
Will Lil Wayne perform?
That brings us to New Orleans native Lil Wayne, whom many had hoped would headline the show before Kendrick was chosen.
Wayne was trading as the second-biggest favorite at FanDuel but has also been removed. Again, I haven't looked close enough at the alleged leak to know for sure if his name is included in it, but I would once again ask why FanDuel would remove one of the biggest names on its oddsboard unless it's trying to limit exposure to only previous wagers.
If you want to potentially spoil the entire halftime show for yourself, you can Google "halftime show leak" and one of the first links is to a Reddit post featuring all of the alleged details.

Total number of songs played
Total Number of songs played | Odds (BetMGM Ontario) |
---|---|
Over 10.5 | -175 |
Under 10.5 | +125 |
This is another detail I did see, though.
I noticed that there were 11 songs listed, though it remains to be seen if each will be played long enough to count as a full song at BetMGM.
Unsurprisingly, FanDuel removed this market, and BetMGM moved Over 10.5 to a heavily juiced -175 price point.
Whether you bet on this Over depends on how much you trust that leak because it feels rather risky to pay into these very short odds at this point. I preached all week - including in our Super Bowl halftime show predictions - that you should take the Over 10.5 at even money despite an update that 99% of the bets were on the Under at BetMGM.
Unfortunately, I never got around to betting it myself. So if you're like me and didn't bet the Over when it was at a good price, you may be interested in how I'm approaching this market now. As much as I want to trust this leak and smash Over 10.5, I can't bring myself to do so at -175.
The leak could be fake or one of the songs may not qualify, and these odds are just too short now.
How to bet on the Super Bowl halftime show following leak
If you're still planning to bet on the Super Bowl halftime show, make sure you limit your wagers vs. what you'd typically bet. This is already a tricky market, but now we're betting against potentially confirmed information.
It's possible there's a surprise celebrity guest, so I don't have a real issue with betting on that market. However, I think you should either target a long shot or ignore first song completely. There's a reason FanDuel and DraftKings pulled that market.
The bet I'm most interested in is "Will Drake release a song on Super Bowl Sunday?" at FanDuel (Ontario). Drake is set to release a project with PartyNextDoor on Feb. 14, but it's possible he tries to steal a bit of Kendrick's thunder by dropping a single on Sunday.
With Yes trading at +340, it's the only Super Bowl halftime show prop that doesn't feel like a lost cause at this point, especially if you're operating under the assumption that a Drake sympathizer was responsible for the leak.
