With three weeks remaining in the regular season, the Buffalo Bills are the Super Bowl odds favorites at our best Super Bowl betting sites, followed closely by the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs.

A combination of key injuries to several players, including David Montgomery, and defeat to the Bills negatively impacted the Lions' odds, which slipped to the third shortest.

The Eagles leapfrogged the Lions into second, while the Chiefs are lurking just behind the leading three. Patrick Mahomes is set to play in Week 16 despite suffering a high-ankle sprain in last week's victory over the Cleveland Browns.

The Los Angeles Chargers' Super Bowl odds shortened after their 34-27 comeback win over the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are hanging around like a pack of hungry hyenas.

Here's our latest Super Bowl odds analysis as we look ahead to the NFL Week 16 odds.

Super Bowl odds 2025

Live updated Super Bowl odds from our best live betting sites entering Week 16.

  • The Bills own the shortest odds at most of our best sportsbooks after vanquishing the previous favorite Lions in Sunday's 48-42 shootout at Ford Field; NFL MVP odds runaway favorite Josh Allen deserves a ton of credit for their current status
  • Detroit has been the most dominant team all year long, but injuries are mounting for one of the NFC's top contenders
  • The Eagles made easy work of the in-state rival Pittsburgh Steelers to move into a tie with the Lions atop the NFC standings
  • The Chiefs finally won a game by more than one score and dodged a bullet where Mahomes' injury is concerned
  • The Ravens bounced back after their bye week with a blowout win over the New York Giants ahead of this week's clash against AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • The Vikings and Packers are knocking on the door of the top five as they compete in the loaded NFC North, with the former seeing their odds shorten from +1600 to +1300
  • With the TNF win over the Broncos, the Chargers improved their NFL playoff odds and implied probability to 97%

Bills (+450)

As I wrote about in my Bills Super Bowl odds feature last month, the Bills entered the year as dark-horse candidates with little momentum. Now, after a scintillating run over the last few weeks, they sit atop the latest Super Bowl odds after beating the previous favorite on the road.

Buffalo's offense was unstoppable Sunday, as it has been for the last two months since adding Amari Cooper to the arsenal of weapons at Allen's disposal. The defense has struggled over the last two weeks, though, which remains a concern ahead of the postseason.

The market is buying the Bills' hot run, anyway, and a $10 bet at FanDuel would return a $45 profit heading into Week 16.

Eagles (+480)

Even after a week of controversy surrounding their offensive chemistry, the Eagles silenced the doubters with a convincing win over the Steelers to secure their 10th straight victory and move into a tie for the best record in the NFC.

That came even with a ho-hum effort from Saquon Barkley, the overwhelming favorite by the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds, with Jalen Hurts carrying the load on offense and this top-ranked defense flustering Pittsburgh throughout.

Now, with Detroit's injury situation threatening to doom last year's NFC runner-up, the door is wide open for Philly to make a run back to the Super Bowl. This might be the most complete team in the NFC, if not the entire league, and you can still profit $48 on a $10 bet at FanDuel if it wins it all.

Lions (+500)

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff celebrates as we break down the latest 2025 Super Bowl odds.

The Lions are no longer the consensus favorites after Sunday's thrilling loss to the Bills, which produced a combined 90 points and 1,080 total yards of offense.

They suffered even more losses on Monday when the team announced that Alim McNeill (MCL) is out for the season, while David Montgomery (MCL) is seeking a third opinion after first being given the same designation. That adds to a lengthy list of key injuries for Detroit, especially on defense, which casts a shadow of doubt on this team's longevity into January and February.

Still, this is arguably the most dangerous team in the NFL when everything is clicking, and it'll have a chance to prove itself over a tricky three-game stretch against the Bears, 49ers, and Vikings to close out the regular season.

And it just became even more tricky after the Vikings' MNF victory.

If Detroit can survive the gauntlet in the NFC and hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history, a $10 bet at FanDuel would return a $50 profit.

Best odds: +500 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 16.67%

Chiefs (+550)

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes throws a pass as we break down the latest 2025 Super Bowl odds.

For once, Kansas City didn't need a blocked field goal or last-second touchdown to escape with a victory, as it held off the Cleveland Browns for a 21-7 road win.

Yet that win came at a cost with QB Patrick Mahomes leaving the game with an ankle injury. That could derail our Super Bowl predictions if he's forced to miss time or if he suffers ill effects from the injury in the postseason.

We've seen Mahomes fight through injury and lead his team to a Super Bowl victory before, and if he can lead the Chiefs to a third straight title win, Caesars would turn a $10 bet into a $55 profit.

Ravens (+850)

It wasn't long ago that the Ravens owned the second-shortest odds to win it all. Now they remain a clear fifth even after bouncing back with a big win over the Giants.

Baltimore's defense showed some fight in New York to continue a strong showing of late, while Lamar Jackson helped reignite this offense after a rough stretch before the bye. If those units can find synergy down the stretch, we could be watching the best team in the NFL at a discounted title price.

Then again, we'll have to see how they play in the next week or two, as the Giants don't exactly offer much in the way of resistance.

For now, a $10 wager at Caesars would return an $85 profit if the Ravens win their first Super Bowl in a decade.

2025 Super Bowl odds contenders

Packers (+1300)

I bet on the Packers as long shots earlier this year, and even I'm tempted by these odds on one of the most dangerous teams in the NFC field.

Jordan Love has proven himself as perhaps the best deep-ball merchant in the league with an array of capable receivers at his disposal, while Jeff Hafley's opportunistic defense is the type of unit that can swing games in the postseason.

We saw both of things on display on Sunday night, when Love showed off his brilliant arm and Green Bay's defense wreaked havoc on Geno Smith and Sam Howell in a 30-13 road win.

We've seen this group go toe-to-toe with some of the best teams in the NFL, and a $10 bet at BetMGM would return a $130 profit if the Packers win it all.

Vikings (+1300)

I highlighted the Vikings as my "team to watch" a few weeks ago, and they keep stacking wins as they quietly stalk the Lions in the NFC North standings.

It feels like the market is still sleeping on this group, which is one of the best teams in the NFL with an offense full of star power behind two of the league's best play-callers in head coach Kevin O'Connell and defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

Minnesota posted another impressive win against its old foes from Chicago, although the Bears didn't offer much resistance. Regardless, this Vikings team is the real deal, and their +1300 would turn a $10 bet into a $130 profit if they win it all.

The Vikings have two remaining home games against the Seahawks and Lions and a road encounter at Green Bay. The Lions definitely have the easier schedule, with remaining games against the Bears and 49ers at home and the Vikings away.

However, the Lions have been hit by the injury bug at the most inopportune time, so it's by no means a lock. The NFC North title could come down to the highly anticipated Week 18 showdown against Detroit. Mark that Jan. 5 tilt on your calendar.

Rams (+4500)

Remember when the Rams appeared left for dead after injuries and bad breaks relegated them to a 1-4 start?

They've ripped off seven wins in nine games since their bye week and now hold the inside track to win the NFC West after outlasting the San Francisco 49ers in a 12-6 rock fight on Thursday Night Football.

I love betting on long shots with a proven coach and quarterback, and it's hard to find a better duo than Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, who have already hoisted the Lombardi Trophy once before. If they do it again, a $10 wager would return a $450 profit at DraftKings.

Super Bowl point spread

We're still awaiting the point spread for Super Bowl 2025. Though if history is an indication, it'll likely open at shorter than a field goal.

Dating back to 2011, 10 of the last 14 matchups have featured a point spread of 3 points or shorter. That includes the last two seasons, when the Kansas City Chiefs won as short underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5) and San Francisco 49ers (-2.5).

The last time the Super Bowl point spread exceeded a touchdown was 2008, when the undefeated New England Patriots were 12-point favorites to beat the New York Giants. That famously didn't end well for the Patriots, who suffered a 17-14 defeat.

Overall, favorites have posted a 29-24-2 record against the spread (54.7%) while winning 37 of 57 matchups straight up (64.9%). That doesn't include the 2015 Super Bowl, when the Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in a pick 'em.

Super Bowl moneyline odds

Updated Super Bowl moneyline odds via DraftKings.

AFCNFC
-115-115

While we still don't know the teams involved, you can already bet on the Super Bowl 2025 moneyline odds based on which conference will win it.

The AFC has won two straight thanks to the Chiefs' dominant run, which extended a 7-3 stretch for the conference over the last 10 years. Three of the five favorites to win this year's Super Bowl hail from the AFC.

The NFC had won four of five Super Bowls before that span. The NFC champion has also entered the Big Game as the outright favorite in three straight years, so don't be surprised if the pendulum swings in that direction before long.

The AFC and NFC have each won 29 games straight up while posting an identical 28-28-2 record against the spread across the 58-year history of the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl O/U total

Once again, we'll likely need to wait until closer to the matchup being determined to bet on the Super Bowl total, which has been trending higher and higher in recent years.

Five of the last eight Super Bowls have featured a betting total of at least 50 points, which had only happened nine times in the previous 50 years. Last year's total of 46.5 was the lowest since 2016, though the Over cashed by 0.5 points after the Chiefs scored the go-ahead touchdown in overtime.

That marked the second straight time the Over hit during the Super Bowl, which ended a successful four-year run for Under bettors. The Over has cashed 29 times compared to 28 wins for the Under throughout Super Bowl history.

How to bet on the Super Bowl

Betting into the Super Bowl market is one of the most popular but challenging things to do successfully as a sports bettor. You have to carefully consider a mix between a team's viability in the regular season and its aptitude for the postseason.

First, you need to consider a team's ability to make the playoffs, which feature seven teams in each conference with a first-round bye for the No. 1 seed. That last part is key - the top seed in each conference routinely reaches (and wins) the Super Bowl, so betting on an elite regular-season team is a solid way to succeed in this market.

That said, a team's postseason success tends to be highly correlated to quarterback play, coaching, and elite defense. That's been the formula for decades, and while a top-flight defense is perhaps the least important of those three, there are only so many franchise quarterbacks and championship-level coaches around.

That's why the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, have won two straight Super Bowls and three of the last five. It's also why most Super Bowl winners tend to enter the season with odds shorter than 10/1, as the teams with those key elements in place are the ones you can expect to survive through February.

How to read Super Bowl odds

A crucial step to betting on the Super Bowl is understanding how the odds work. Put simply, American odds represent how much money you would win on a $100 wager - or, in some cases, how much money you would need to wager to return $100.

Let's refer to an example. The Kansas City Chiefs opened with +750 odds to win the 2025 Super Bowl. That means a $100 bet at those odds would return $750 in profit, or a $10 bet would return $75 in profit. You could even bet $1 for a $7.50 return if Kansas City does indeed win its third consecutive championship this February.

A team like the Houston Texans, which opened at +2500 odds, would return a whopping $2,500 in profit if they win their first Super Bowl. Of course, those odds suggest they are much less likely to do so, as those +2500 odds represent an implied probability of just 3.85% according to our odds converter.

As we get closer to the Big Game, you may see a team dealing at "negative" odds. For example, the San Francisco 49ers were priced at -125 ahead of Super Bowl 58, meaning you would need to bet $125 to win $100, or $12.50 to win $10.

You'll want to be careful staking too much on bets with minus odds, as what can seem like a "sure thing" is always vulnerable to the chaos and unpredictability of sports.
