Eastern Conference heavyweights go head-to-head in Cleveland on Wednesday, but which squad will come out on top? Read on for our top 76ers vs. Cavaliers picks based on the best NBA odds.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are three games behind the Philadelphia 76ers for the No. 3 seed in the East, while the Sixers sit just one game behind the Boston Celtics for the No. 2 seed.

Philly’s trip to Cleveland has major playoff implications as both teams jockey for better positioning within the Eastern Conference. Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen will likely miss a third straight game due to an eye contusion, while guard Donovan Mitchell’s status is unknown after he sat out Tuesday due to a finger sprain. Forward Jalen McDaniels is questionable for Philly due to a hip injury.

Here is our best 76ers vs. Cavaliers pick (odds via DraftKings; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

In Tuesday's Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns preview, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s status was uncertain, so we pivoted to a player prop. Wednesday's matchup is no different, as we’ll target Joel Embiid’s points with the playing statuses of Mitchell and Allen unknown.

Coming into Wednesday, Embiid has scored at least 31 points in six straight games, and he’s averaged 35 points per game in nine appearances since the All-Star break. The big man averages just 32.7 points per game on the road and has scored at least 32 points in 30 of 54 regular season games. That includes 13 of 23 games on the road.

With one of Cleveland’s key defensive stoppers potentially unavailable, Embiid could feast in the post and take advantage of a favorable matchup. He’s been monstrous as a scorer of late, and he should continue to post huge numbers as the Sixers try to overtake Boston in the standings.

The odds on this line are all over the place. FanDuel’s -113 offering is a bit too short for our taste, and PointsBet isn’t offering odds on 31.5 points. Caesars’ odds are also a little too short, and FanDuel’s odds are too short with an extra point to get. That’s why our best odds come from DraftKings or BetMGM.

76ers vs. Cavaliers odds analysis

The Cavs opened as 1.5-point underdogs, and the line has moved a point in favor of the 76ers. Bettors favor Philly, with 61% of wagers placed on the team to cover as road favorites. Until Donovan Mitchell’s status is known, it’s best to avoid the spread or moneyline bets on this game.

The point total opened at 220.5, but it’s gone up by 1.5 or 2 points depending on the book. This is quite a modest total, and the two teams hit the Over in Philly and the Under in Cleveland earlier this season. The Sixers are 12-5 to the Over as road favorites, and Cleveland is 9-6 as the underdog. Each team has hit the Over in four of its last six outings.
